George E. Lane III
George E. Lane Jr. was admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 1970. He served as the Solicitor for the Town of Weymouth from 1991-2015. He previously served as President of the Massachusetts City Solicitors and Town Counsels Association. In his 25-plus years as Town Solicitor Mr. Lane served as lead counsel in a variety of matters including land use, licensing, employment, and numerous other civil matters on behalf of the Town of Weymouth. Mr. Lane was instrumental in the implementation of the new mayoral form of government in Weymouth in 1999.
Mr. Lane was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and New England (Portia) School of Law.
Retiring in 2015, Mr. Lane additionally had over 50 years of extensive experience in the areas of Probate and Estates, Personal Injury law, Commercial and Residential Real Estate Transactions, Wills and Trusts, and Corporate Business Matters. He served, additionally, as Commisioner in Probate Court matters and as a Special Hearings Officer in municipal employment matters.
George E. Lane Jr. passed away in 2016 leaving an indelible mark on the local legal community and the thousands of clients he represented over the years. George is and will be truly missed by all who crossed his path.

Attorney Lane III has successfully represented clients in Divorce and Family Law matters in many Probate Courts in the area, obtained favorable settlements for persons injured as a result of motor vehicle accidents and matters involving third party negligence. Mr. Lane has 21-plus years of experience in the representation of buyers, sellers, and lenders in real estste transactions.
Mr. Lane is recognized as one of only approximately two dozen Massachusetts attorneys who are members of the National College of DUI Defense, a national association of attorneys who specialize in the representation of persons accused of Operating Under the Influence and related charges.
